The determination of the specifications and output of the rotary kiln requires consideration of many factors, including production technology, characteristics of raw materials, production capacity and production requirements, material characteristics, firing process, environmental protection requirements, etc. The following are the factors that determine the size and output of the rotary kiln:

Production process and characteristics of raw materials. Including the viscosity, density, permeability, particle size, shape, density and fluidity of the raw materials, these factors affect the specifications of the rotary kiln.

Production capacity and production requirements. This is an important factor in determining the size of the rotary kiln and needs to be considered comprehensively.

Aspect ratio (L/D). The selection of the aspect ratio should take into account the nature of the raw materials, output, quality, heat consumption and the entire process requirements to ensure low heat consumption, large heating capacity, and the smooth completion of a series of physical and chemical processes.

Inner diameter and length. It is calculated based on the air flow velocity, the diameter of the ore feeding port, the thickness of the ball layer and the aspect ratio.
Inclination, rotational speed and residence time of materials in the kiln. These factors ensure the production capacity of the kiln and the degree of material tumbling. The general inclination is 3%~5%, the rotation speed is 0.3~1.5r/min, and the material residence time is generally 30~40min.

Fill rate and utilization factor. The filling rate of foreign rotary kilns is generally 6% to 8%, and the utilization coefficient is related to the properties of the raw materials.

Environmental requirements. Considering reducing the emission of waste gas and waste residue, high-output rotary kilns need to be equipped with corresponding waste gas purification equipment.

Maintenance and overhaul. Carry out regular maintenance and overhaul to ensure that the temperature, carbon content, material quality and other indicators in the rotary kiln meet the requirements.
